High-strength alloy steel
Komatsu Track Chain uses special alloy steels such as 35MnBN. After quenching and tempering, the core hardness reaches HRC32-36, combining toughness and deformation resistance.
Surface hardening treatment
The surface of the chain link is subjected to medium frequency quenching, the hardness is increased to HRC50-54, the hardened layer depth is 6-12mm, and the wear resistance is significantly enhanced.
Precision forging process
Through the fully automated forging production line, the geometric accuracy error of the track chain links is ensured to be ≤0.05mm, improving overall stability.
Carburizing to strengthen the pin hole
The inner wall of the pin hole is carburized to form a hardened layer with a depth of 3-5mm, which reduces the friction loss between the pin and the bushing.

Visual inspection(per work shift/5 hours)
Track tension：Use a ruler to measure the track sag, the standard value is 30-50mm (at the center of the track roller). Too loose will easily lead to derailment, too tight will increase wear.
Track chain: Check the connections to see if the bolts are loose (torque standard: M30 bolts 1200±50N·m) and whether the lock washers are damaged.
Track shoe wear: Measure the thickness of the track shoe. The wear limit is 70% of the original thickness (standard thickness is about 60mm). If it exceeds this limit, it needs to be turned over or replaced.
Sealing status: Observe whether there is grease leakage at the pin hole of the chain link. If so, the seal has failed and the sealing kit needs to be replaced in time.
Run Check(per work shift/5 hours)
Abnormal noise during movement: When the equipment is moving, monitor the track chain for any abnormal friction or impact sounds, which may indicate wear on the pin sleeve or a foreign object getting stuck.
Deviation test: When walking in a straight line for 10 meters, the deviation should be ≤0.5 meters. Otherwise, the track tension needs to be adjusted or the track rollers need to be checked.
Temperature monitoring: After 2 hours of operation, touch the chain link, the temperature should be ≤80℃ (hand can touch it briefly). Overheating may be due to insufficient lubrication or excessive load.
Regular lubrication (every 25 hours/week)
Centralized lubrication system:Use Komatsu special grease (model: Super UG2, NLGI grade 2, dropping point > 260°C).
Use a grease gun to pressurize the grease nozzle until the old grease is squeezed out. The amount of grease added to each grease point is about 15-20g.
Note: Clean the oil filling nozzle before filling oil to avoid mixing in impurities.
Seasonal maintenance:
Summer (＞35℃)：
Komatsu track chain increases the lubrication frequency to once every 15 hours and uses high-temperature resistant grease (dropping point > 280°C).
Check the cooling system to ensure that the track oil temperature is ≤90℃. A forced air cooling device can be installed.
Winter (<-20℃)：
Replace low-temperature grease (cone penetration ≥ 310, applicable temperature -40℃~+120℃).
Preheat the crawler system before starting, run it at idle speed for 5 minutes, and then move it slowly.
