The Cat Boom Cylinder adopts a buffer sleeve design with a buffer structure at the piston, which can effectively reduce the impact on the cylinder during the excavator's operation, and extends the service life by more than 30%.
High-Quality Material
The cylinder sleeve is made of high-strength alloy steel, and the piston rod is made of 42CrMo high-strength material, which undergoes quenching and tempering treatment and surface hardening, featuring excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. The seals are made of imported high-quality materials, resistant to high temperature.
Hydraulic System Matching
With a cylinder bore of 150mm and a stroke of 1440mm, it can perfectly match the three-pump hydraulic system of Caterpillar 336D. The main pump has a maximum flow rate of 280 liters per minute and the system pressure is 35MPa, providing strong digging force and fast action response.

Production process
CNC Machining
Precision machining is adopted to cut raw materials, to ensure the fitting accuracy with other accessories. Meanwhile, it also guarantees the flatness of the product.

Heat treatment process
The piston rod undergoes quenching and tempering treatment as well as medium-frequency quenching, with the core hardness reaching HRC28-32 and the surface hardness HRC58-62. The depth of the surface nitrided layer is 0.2-0.3mm, which can significantly improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

Welding process
The cylinder bottom is welded to the cylinder barrel by a CNC welding machine. After welding, boring and skiving-rolling treatments are carried out to ensure sealing performance.

Assembly process
The assembly of the oil cylinder assembly is conducted in a special assembly workshop to ensure cleanliness and assembly quality. The assembly machine is used for assembly, inspection and pressure testing. After all a tightness test will be carried out under a working pressure of 35MPa to ensure no leakage.

336D Cat Boom Cylinder has stable output in harsh environment such as mine hard rock and infrastructure earthwork, with continuous operation performance.
Equipped with 6500mm boom and 3200mm arm, the maximum digging depth can reach 7390mm, the bucket digging force can be up to 222 KN, and the arm digging force is 169 KN, delivering outstanding performance in working conditions like earthwork engineering and mine exploitation.
Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection
Adopts boom and arm regeneration circuits to recover energy during boom lowering and arm retraction, improving efficiency about 15-20% and reducing fuel consumption. The equipped Cat C9 ACERT engine has a rated power of 200 kW, complying with US EPA Tier 2, EU Stage II and China Tier 2 emission standards.

The using life of the 336D Cat boom cylinder can reach 5-8 years or longer under normal usage and maintenance conditions. The actual using life determined by various factors, including working intensity, maintenance frequency, and operating environment. Regular maintenance can significantly extend the service life of the cylinder.
The regular replacement cycle for hydraulic oil in the Caterpillar 336D is 3,000 operating hours or 18 months, which can be extended to 6,000 operating hours or 3 years under normal usage conditions. During the extended period, it is recommended to conduct SOS testing on the hydraulic oil every 500 hours. Hydraulic oil with a viscosity grade of SAE 10W-30 (for ambient temperatures between -18°C and 40°C) should be used.
